Entering the 70's with a 70's party! This birthday invitation was inspired by Studio 54's ticket design, capturing the the disco era. Printed with gold holographic foil that beautifully stands out on #130 colorplan ebony paper.
You can see the gold undertone in the third photo. When the invitation is moved under certain light and turned at different angles, you can see the array of colors.
Yellow & Lace also offers Modern Calligraphy workshops for beginners.
Over the summer, I had the privilege to teach at Sourced. Collective, a collaborative work and event space in Laguna Beach.
This blue charming home transformed into a the perfect creative space for my calligraphy students. In this class, my students learn about the anatomy of the calligraphy pen, practice basic strokes to create letter formations, then have the opportunity to create their own calligraphy style.

Harper's Bazaar- Costume Designers Guild
Harper's Bazaar inquired with me to paint on leather clutches for their event with The Outnet and Costume Designers Guild.
They found me through Instagram looking for leather painters and initially saw my floral painted leather jackets. It worked out that I was so close to the Los Angeles area and available!
The event took place at Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles. Costume designers, actors, and supporters came to the intimate event and were all gifted clutches with the option of getting them monogrammed.
The clutches, made by Iris and Ink, were from The OUTNET. There were over 40 guests who wanted to get their clutches personalized.

Laguna Art Gallery Tour
Members of BMW, both corporate and owners of BMW dealership signed for an art gallery tour in Laguna Beach. This is a pamphlet highlighting some of Laguna's best art galleries. Guests were greeted with these pamphlets, champagne, and snacks. They were then led to three art galleries: saltfineart, Sue Greenman Fine Art and Sonia & Co. The day ended with yummy appetizers and drinks at Royal Hawaiian.
A Sourced. Collective Collaboration Illustration and Design by Yellow & Lace
I was given the creative freedom to design an interactive pamphlet. This particular project was a milestone for me, because it challenged me as an illustrator and graphic designer. This style is far different from the work I have done in the past and showcases that I am a versatile artist.
Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?! This life size princess-like escort mirror made a BIG STATEMENT at Alexis and Justin's wedding. Unique seating charts like these are both interactive and decorative elements of a wedding.
Escort mirrors at this scale take an average of 5-6 hours to complete. Because of their large size, it is crucial to plan the names out before writing directly on the mirror.

When fashion blogger and friend, Ashley of Fashion Meets Futbol, asked me to paint on her leather jacket, I said, "HECK YA!" I thought this idea of a "wifey jacket" was so unique. Little did I know her wedding and this jacket would be featured in Style Me Pretty. The Wifey Jacket has been one of my most popular orders up to date.
My technique to paint my florals is to apply two shades of color- both highlight and shadow colors. When I make my strokes, the two-toned brush creates depth, making the flowers appear 3D.

Alex & Matt's Wedding Invitations
The invite that became a Yellow & Lace signature.
This was a special piece made for Alex and Matt who had a romantic beach wedding at L'auberge Del Mal Mar Hotel. The subtle details from her dress to the striped umbrellas tied in with the rest of the wedding, which included soft pink floral bouquets and striped beach towels for their guests on beach day.
Yellow & Lace specializes in custom-made invitations tailored to each couple and aims to tell their story through art. Despite their size, invitations are very important. They are the first thing your guests see and set the overall tone of your occasion.
Babette's is an eclectic restaurant focused on clean food. They use food that is organic and seasonal, supporting local farmers and growers. Being a frequent guest, I can attest to their delicious food! I always leave satisfied. They're located in front of Crystal Cove Beach where they get the best view of the sunset every single day.
I was given the privilege to revamp their to-go menu. The menu was designed by Alli of Guided by Design. It was transferred and lettered by Yellow & Lace.
Figuring out the layout of the menu and measurements of a 10 foot chalkboard was the crucial step to transfer the copy in an organized way.
I used the tape method to guide my lettering and keep lines clean, and I used chalk marker to write the menu. Chalk marker allows me to erase and change items when they decide to update the menu.
Frida Kahlo Portrait
Frida Kahlo is a Mexican artist who is known for her self-portraits and paintings that reflected Mexican society, gender, class, and race.
I consider her to be one favorite painters, so what better way to honor Frida than to paint a portrait of her.
This portrait was painted with acrylic. I was able to create a variety of colors just using primary colors. I started with basic shapes, placed light and shadow and built in color.
